Yo! We gotz sum new photos up from the last photoshoot we had last summer. There was a huge storm that night, which we totally did not anticipate, but it actually added to the vibe of the whole session. It was real fun, we thank Rozmy for doing such a great job. Oh yeah, we have a new member as you can see... she's really cute and really furry, her name is Trisha and she's of Husky and Pitbull descent. :)

+ AreWeOK Video Premiere!

We are very happy to announce the premiere of our first video, for Are We OK. It will air on MTV Hungary's Rock Chart this Sunday, (01.27) at 9 PM. Then, from Tuesday, the video will be online exclusively for a while only at Planet Z's site.The video turned out great, we are all very excited, and can't wait till you guys see it. So hit us up with the comments when you've seen it :-)

Big news! We just shot our first video last friday for "Are We OK". It was awesome to say the least. The filming took place at an old, partly-still-functioning lunatic asylum up on the Buda hills. Creepy shit! The whole film crew was really proffessional and really cool people. We had a great time and became really exhausted by the end of the day. The video is basically a performance video interlaced with a storyline, about a psychology experiment and a dude and a girl! :) The takes we've seen on-set we're amazing, we can't wait for it to get finished. As soon as it's done, we'll have it online... keep you all posted!

Yo! Feltettünk pár képet a múlt nyári fotózáson készültekből. Természetesen óriási vihar volt aznap este, amire egyáltalán nem számítottunk, de végül még jót is tett a képeknek. Pompásan éreztük magunkat, ezer hála Rozmynak, aki remek munkát végzett. Ja igen, van egy új tag a bandában, ahogy látjátok... nagyon cuki és nagyon szőrös, Trisának hívják és Husky-Pitbull keverék. :)

Na végre sikerült magunkat kilőni a hipertérbe, miután megjavítottuk a fluxuskondenzátort, yaman! Feltettünk egy csomó zenét, a klippet, fotókat blablabla... Egyre sűrűbben készítünk demokat az új számokról, készülünk a következő lemezre. Köszönjetek be, írjatok spaceen, gyertek bulizni. TSÁH!

Boldogan jelentjük be első klippünk premierjét, amit az Are We OK -re forgattunk! Az MTV Rock Chartján láthatjátok először, most vasárnap (01.27) este 9-kor. Utána, keddtől egy hétig exklúzívan a Planet Z oldalán nézhetitek meg neten. A klipp nagyon jól sikerült, nekünk nagyon tetszik és izgatottan várjuk mit szóltok hozzá. Úgyhogy jöhetnek a kommentek ha megnéztétek :-)

Nagy híreink vannak! Múlt hét Pénteken forgattuk első klippünket az "Are We OK" -re. Nagyon jó élmény volt. A forgatásra egy öreg, még részben működő pszichiátriai intézetben került sor, fent a budai hegyekben. Elég bizarr helyszín! Az egész filmes stáb profi volt és nagyon jófejek. Remekül éreztük magunkat, a nap végére rendesen elfáradtunk. A klippben egy történet van összefűzve olyan jelenetekkel ahol játszunk. A történet egy pszichológiai kisérletet elevenít meg, plusz van benne egy csaj meg egy csávó, őőőh :-) Nagyon jól néztek ki a felvételek amiket a helyszínen láttunk, alig várjuk hogy elkészüljön. Amint kész, egyből töltjük fel... időben szólni fogunk!
"Instincts are irrational, and we must follow where they lead" - emerging with similar motives, Shell Beach was founded by long-time friends in 2004. The line, taken from the band-name-inspiring movie "Dark City", coincidentally describes the circumstances around the formation of the band perfectly. With the members each having paid their dues in well-known and popular acts of the Budapest underground scene, the need to create a band that represents something new and something fresh arose mutually. "Most of us still had obligations in other musical endeavours, but we got pulled in the minute we started. There was nothing like when the five of us played together." - says vocalist Zoli Totik. The post-hardcore/alternative outfit grew fast the following years and focused on creating music they always had dreamed of writing. With the help of a demo and online presence the attention and interest surrounding the group quickly arose, enabling the band to tour the country and neighbouring regions.
Soon enough the material for the first full-length Shell Beach record was written. The title "Acronycal" - an astronomical term referring to planets that are opposite the sun, hence in a favourable position for observation - parallels perfectly with the notion that the record is indeed a perfect showcase for the various sides of Shell Beach. Ranging from the intense, hardcore-inspired waves of chaos, to the quiet, ambient, dreamlike passages, the music heard on "Acronycal" represents our daily struggles in life and our pursuit to find happiness. The 10 tracks show that the band takes pride in their musical influences by acknowledgeing their many inspirations like Glassjaw, the Deftones, Refused or He Is Legend to name just a few. Although the record aims at giving a sence of completion, this most possibly can only be achieved by experiencing Shell Beach in a live setting. "And this is the ultimate goal for our band, for us to be able to play our music for the most people we possibly can."

"Ösztöneink irracionálisak… követnünk kell őket, bármerre vezessenek is" – hasonló motivációval alapította a Shell Beach-et 2004-ben öt barát. A zenekarnévnek is ihletet adó "Dark City" c. filmből vett idézet tökéletesen írja le egyébként a zenekar születésének körülményeit. Miután a tagok már lerótták kötelező köreiket a budapesti underground ismert és népszerű formációiban, egy valami újat és frisset képviselő zenekar megalapítása közös céllá vált. "Legtöbben még játszottunk más bandákban akkor, de egyből megváltozott minden, miután elkezdtünk együtt zenélni. Páratlan élmény volt számunkra, mikor öten együtt játszottunk." – mondja Totik Zoli énekes. A következő években gyors fejlődésnek indult a post-hardcore/alternatív csapat, s végre olyan zenék írásával foglalkozhattak, melyekről korábban csak álmodoztak. A csapat híre egy demo és netes megjelenések hatására gyorsan terjedt, lehetővé téve az országban és a szomszédos területeken való túrnézást.
Nem sokkal később el is készült az első Shell Beach lemez anyaga. Az "Acronycal" cím – ami a nappal szemben elhelyezkedő, s ez által kedvező megfigyelési helyzetben lévő égitestekre használatos angol csillagászati fogalom – könnyedén párhuzamosítható azzal a ténnyel, hogy a lemez tökéletes bemutatója a Shell Beach megannyi oldalának. Az intenzív, hardcore inspirálta káoszhullámoktól egészen a halk, ambientes, álomszerű összekötésekig, az “Acronycal”-on található zene mindennapos küszködésünk és boldogságkeresésünk filmzenéje. Ebből a 10 számból könnyen kihallható, hogy a zenekar büszke zenei hatásaira, olyan zenekarokra mint a Glassjaw, a Deftones, a Refused vagy a He Is Legend pl. Bár a lemez a befejezettségérzet keltését tűzi ki célul, ezt leginkább akkor érhetjük csak el, ha a Shell Beach-et élőben is tapasztaljuk. "És ez a legfőbb célunk a zenekarral, hogy a lehető legtöbb embernek játszhassuk zenénket."
